Emergency Medical Response Training
The ASHI Emergency Medical Response training program provides a detailed and comprehensive approach for managing of out-of-hospital medical emergencies prior to the arrival of EMS. This program provides more details, depth, and exposure to standard first aid training topics to provide richer and more advanced training in first aid. It meets workplace first aid training requirements and satisfies the desire to learn more than just basic first aid.
Can I take this class?
Prerequisites
Current certification in healthcare-level CPR training, or Basic Life Support (BLS). BLS training and certification can also be done concurrently as part of the Emergency Medical Response class.
Participants will learn to:
✔ Assess patients
✔ Address airway and breathing emergencies
✔ Respond to cardiac emergencies, including CPR and AED training
✔ Treat illnesses and injuries, including medical emergencies
✔ Administer remote-location first aid
✔ Understand EMS Operations
✔ Respond to childbirth scenarios

This is a 50hr Training Course!
Students are assigned a number of chapters to read weekly along with chapter quizzes and group discussions.
From 10AM to 3PM
December: 4th, 5th, 13th, 18th, 19th & 27th
January: 5th, 10th, 15th & 16th
From 8:00 AM to 5PM
January 20th (testing day)
This course is taught by a nationally certified EMT, Kiya Beard. This course is approved by NREMT as a prerequisite to NREMT's written and practical exam.
