Emergency Medical Response Training
The ASHI Emergency Medical Response training program provides a detailed and comprehensive approach for managing of out-of-hospital medical emergencies prior to the arrival of EMS. This program provides more details, depth, and exposure to standard first aid training topics to provide richer and more advanced training in first aid. It meets workplace first aid training requirements and satisfies the desire to learn more than just basic first aid.
Participants will learn to:
✔ Assess patients
✔ Address airway and breathing emergencies
✔ Respond to cardiac emergencies, including CPR and AED training
✔ Treat illnesses and injuries, including medical emergencies
✔ Administer remote-location first aid
✔ Understand EMS Operations
✔ Respond to childbirth scenarios

Students are assigned a number of chapters to read weekly along with chapter quizzes and group discussions. A live Q&A/recep will be held weekly/evenings via zoom. Students are able to ask questions via the comments prior to the live Q&A/recap. Students will meet in person on two Fridays and 2 Saturdays from 8am to 10am for skills training and recap materials.
This is a 9 week Hybrid Course!
This course is taught by a nationally certified EMT, Kiya Beard. This course is approved by NREMT as a prerequisite to NREMT's written and practical exam.
